Security a Staple at L.A. Arena

The Staples Center, home of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, and the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, has implemented an integrated security management solution from Lenel Systems International Inc., Rochester, N.Y.
The system — the OnGuard ET — will enable the 900,000 square-foot facility to control access, issue ID badges and conduct other visitor management functions.
“We upgraded based on the access control needs and complexities of a venue like Staples Center,” says Lee Zeidman, senior vice president of operations at the facility.
“Staples Center has one of the most sophisticated and comprehensive security management programs we have seen, “says Gus Drulias, vice president of security solutions at the facility. “The Lenel OnGuard ET access control system with visitor management is a perfect fit.”
Security Solutions, an authorized Lenel OnGuard VAR based in Los Alamitos, Calif., performed and managed the system retrofit and OnGuard installation.
The OnGuard ET system, for which a second edition has been released, provides interfaces to access control, credential management, digital video, asset management, intrusion detection, building automation, fire alarms and other systems.
