Be Smart Around Suspicious Objects
Mar 1, 2008 12:00 PM
When you discover a suspicious object in the workplace, there are a few guidelines to follow, according to “The Encyclopedia of Security Management” by John J. Fay. Do not touch the object. Begin questioning employees around the area and order an evacuation. Then, notify your facility's bomb disposal team along with the police, who will assume command of the situation. “The Encyclopedia of Security Management” has been called an “abbreviated synthesis” of all previous works in the security industry dating back to 1957. Today, a revised and expanded second edition of the work has been published. Visit books.elsevier.com/security.
