SECURITY ACCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN/LOCKSMITH

Join MITRE, a Fortune 100 'Best Companies to Work For' company, as a Security Access Control Technician/Locksmith, who will install, modify, service and maintain fire, intrusion, access control, and CCTV systems and components in MITRE occupied buildings. Position will also perform locksmith services.

Key Functions:
Configures hardware and software within parameters set forth by local and state life safety and building codes, Underwriters Laboratories, NFPA standards, National Industrial Security Program and other government regulations to ensure approved operational systems status. Installs, modifies and upgrades system control panels and initiating and indicating devices and transmission circuits. Executes authorized procedures to analyze, diagnose and resolve system trouble conditions during normal and after hours to ensure operational status in a timely manner. Monitors system performance and executes approved preventive maintenance. Installs and services locks. Cuts and maintains keys. Services and changes combination locks.

Required Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience

Required Skills:
Training and in-depth knowledge of computerized fire/intrusion systems or network-based electronic security and life safety systems. Ability to work on call outside of standard working hours when necessary. Working knowledge of BOCA codes. Required to obtain/maintain DCJS certification. Working knowledge of Software House hardware, CCure Access Control System and Intellex CCTV/DVR systems. Working knowledge of NEC rules for low voltage wiring and/or UL 681 intrusion alarms installation requirements desirable.

Desired Skills:
Training in computerized fire/intrusion systems or network-based electronics for computerized fire/security systems desirable. Ability to work on call outside of standard working hours when necessary. Working knowledge of BOCA codes. Required to obtain/maintain DCJS certification. Working knowledge of Software House hardware, CCure Access Control and Intellex CCTV/DVR systems a plus. Working knowledge of NEC rules for low voltage wiring and/or UL 681. Working knowldge of NISPOM, DCID and UL 2050 physical protection standards as they pertain to access control and intrusion detection systems.

Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizen are eligible for a security clearance.
