COORDINATOR SECURITY OPERATION

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Security Officer, this position will develop, manage and be accountable for all security operations for assigned region(s)/district(s) of Metro-North Railroad territory. This position will also manage the contract security guard force at various field locations, conduct security site inspections and assist with other security operations as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience managing security operations in a complex, multi-site operation for a public and/or governmental organization.
• Minimum 3 years experience managing professional, proprietary and contract security operations.

• Strong familiarity with electronic access control, intrusion detection and CCTV security systems.
• Broad background in technology used in security and/or communication systems.
• Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
• Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to interact productively with internal/external customers.
• Strong ability to handle multiple assignments with fluctuating priorities.
• Strong ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or comparable application.
• Must be available 24/7 as required, including rotating shifts and weekend and holiday coverage.
• Knowledge of standard safety and security policies and procedures.
• Geographical familiarity with New York metropolitan region.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with National Incident management System (NIMS).
• Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
• NIMS Certifications; IS700 & IS100.
