Horne International Inc., Fairfax, Va., a provider of engineering services with an emphasis on security, has agreed to acquire Amata Inc., Englewood, Colo., a provider of security systems for critical facilities and infrastructure.

Aronson Security Group (ASG), Seattle, an independent security integrator, has acquired Selectron Inc., Portland, Ore., also an independent security integrator.

Cross Match Technologies Inc., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., a provider of biometric identity management systems, has acquired Labcal Technologies Inc., Quebec, a biometric authentication business.

The Halifax Group, Washington, D.C., a private equity firm specializing in partnering, has announced the acquisition of North American Video, Brick, N.J., a developer of integrated video surveillance and security systems.

GE Security Inc., Bradenton, Fla., has acquired certain assets of CoVi Technologies Inc., Austin, Texas, an IP video systems provider.

Agreements

Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Carmel, Ind., a provider of secure products, has become the preferred access control and security provider for CardSmith, a supplier to colleges and universities with card transaction management solutions.

RS2 Technologies LLC, Munster, Ind., a provider of access control systems, has partnered with ICD Security Solutions, Beijing, China, a provider of system integration solutions. ICD will represent RS2's hardware and software in China, India, Singapore and Japan.

Pelco, Clovis, Calif., a video security systems manufacturer, and AMAG Technology, Torrance, Calif., a manufacturer of digital video and access control software, have partnered to create a complete product integration of video, access control, intrusion and visitor management.

Announcements

Edge Integration Systems Inc., Oakland, Calif., a designer and developer of IP-based access control systems, has changed its name to Reach Systems Inc.

Proximex, Sunnyvale, Calif., developer for the physical security information management market, has joined the Sony Security Solution Affiliate (SSA) Program, which supports integrated security solutions.

Enterasys Networks Inc., Andover, Mass., a developer of secure networks for businesses, has been selected as the official InteropNet 2008 security provider for Interop Las Vegas and New York.

ACORN Wire and Iron Works, manufacturers of security folding gates and wire mesh partitions, have relocated their headquarters and manufacturing facility to Chicago.

Axis Communications, Chelmsford, Mass., in the network video market, has opened a new training center at its U.S. headquarters for members of its Channel Partner Program, and will provide Axis Communications' Academy trainings.

The Gilbertson Group, Coatesville, Pa., has joined SafetyCare's Authorized Partner Program.

Digital Monitoring Products (DMP), Springfield, Mo., has launched SecureCom Wireless LLC as a new business to provide cellular service for DMP customers utilizing the company's recently released 463G Digital Cellular Communicator.

Wren, Jefferson City, Mo., a provider of comprehensive video surveillance solutions, has announced that its Wren Video Management System (VMS) Software has been named one of District Administration's Reader's Choice Top 100 K-12 Products of 2007-2008.
