Stanley Convergent Security Solutions Inc. (formerly HSM Electronic Protection Services Inc.), Naperville, Ill., a commercial security services company, has purchased A-1 Security Ltd., Las Vegas, a security company with expertise in maintaining and monitoring access control systems and video surveillance systems.

Tyco International Ltd., Bermuda, a provider of security products and services, has announced that its ADT Security business, Boca Raton, Fla., has reached an agreement to acquire FirstService Security, Collegeville, Pa., a division of FirstService Corp., for approximately $187 million. FirstService Security operates under the Security Services & Technologies (SST) brand name in the United States.

March Networks, Ottawa, Ontario, a provider of intelligent IP video applications, has acquired Cieffe S.p.A, Milan, Italy, and its related company, Insignis Technologies S.r.I., developers of high-performance IP video solutions.

AGREEMENTS

The Digital Pixim System technology from Pixim Inc., Mountain View, Calif., a provider of image sensors and processors, has been incorporated into the intelligent surveillance Camera with Video Recording (iCVR), from VideoIQ, Bedford, Mass.

Orsus, New York, a developer of situation management, is partnering with Adesta LLC, Omaha, Neb., a systems integrator for electrical security systems, to combine Orsus' security and safety situation management software with Adesta's systems integration expertise.

Mango DSP, Jerusalem, a provider of intelligent video servers for video surveillance market, and Steelbox Networks, Atlanta, a developer of media appliances, have signed a partnership agreement to present the industry with a comprehensive intelligent video, processing, distribution, storage and management solution.

Lumidigm Inc., Albuquerque, N.M., a multispectral imaging biometrics company, has announced a certified business partnership with BioGuard Components & Technologies Ltd., Israel, an international biometrics solutions developer.

Technology from ViaLogy LLC, Altadena, Calif., a provider of network-centric, real-time signal processing platforms, is being integrated into the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security.
