Enclosure Flexibility
SPOTLIGHT: Wren Solution Dome Series
Wren Solutions' line of integrated IP camera/housing systems offers users a choice of fixed or pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras housed in recessed or pendant mount enclosures for indoor video surveillance applications. The systems include 10x-zoom fixed or PTZ cameras. “Our new Solution Domes round out our offerings, enabling customers to select from a variety of fixed or PTZ cameras in housings designed for indoor environments,” says Andrew Wren, president of Wren Solutions.
The pendant enclosure systems are suitable for open-ceiling and suspended-beam applications, while the recessed mount enclosure systems are ideal for drop-ceiling and hard-ceiling (sheetrock) applications. Both housings are constructed of materials that withstand impact and wear-and-tear. The company's dome system equipped with a PTZ camera is suitable for use in large spaces, such as gymnasiums, corridors and school cafeterias, where activity in specific areas requires closer investigation. The PTZ camera can pivot and zoom in to generate clear images of a chosen area.
Both the fixed and PTZ dome systems can be operated with Wren's Video Management System (VMS) Software to capture, review and manage video from multiple locations and to access live and archived video from a PC. The latest VMS version, 3.0.1, features a Camera Loss Detection capability that alerts selected users automatically when there is a loss of video from the camera. “Wren VMS Software enables users to operate their PTZ cameras remotely, thus maximizing their opportunities to take full advantage of PTZ capabilities from remote locations, any time of day or night,” Wren says. Activity Monitoring System
USES BIOMETRIC TECHNOLOGY TO MONITOR TRAFFIC AT FACILITY ACCESS POINTS
The system uses facial recognition technology to lock and unlock doors as well as to monitor human movement throughout a facility. The system creates a unique identification number that triggers a facial biometric match for each user. As soon as the user attempts to gain access through a door, a small camera processes a facial image and compares it to the facial biometric associated with the individual. If a match is not made, the user will not be granted access. The system is suitable for tracking patients, visitors, employees, contractors and anyone else who has reason to enter a building. A wireless tracking capability enables remote visual tracking and locating within a facility. The system integrates with and builds on existing security infrastructure. The camera is housed in a weatherproof, vandal-resistant aluminum body and polycarbonate enclosure that is IP66-rated. It can operate in temperatures as low as -10 degrees F. The latest version extends the platform's capabilities to manage multiple locations with a single implementation to enable enterprise-wide user identity roaming and seamless fail-over for business continuity. Along with the new version, the supplier offers an open Application Programming Interface (API) to allow various access control vendors to incorporate the platform into any installation and to allow any supported system to become a part of the converged security platform. Other new features include delegated administration to enable hierarchical administrative support across physical and IT boundaries, support for multiple accounts per user, support for Vista on 64-Bit Systems and multiple token support. A CLOSER LOOK AT SOFTWARE
Security Management System
INTEGRATES ACCESS CONTROL, DIGITAL VIDEO AND ALARM MONITORING
The software system allows end-users to migrate seamlessly from one of four levels as their security requirements expand, leaving existing databases and hardware intact. Users can view transactions, video and badging photos simultaneously, eliminating the need to access multiple systems or flip to alternate screens. The software includes integrated digital video management, visitor management and alarm graphics functions. Data Erasing Software
QUICKLY AND PERMANENTLY DELETES DATA
The software tool permanently erases all data, helping companies protect against security breaches and comply with laws and regulations governing data retention and privacy. Once the data is deleted, recovery is impossible. A reporting tool captures a record of all erasures performed on a network or a single PC. Reports delivered to administrators via e-mail or in .xml format verify that all data has been erased.
