Heavy-Duty Camera Enclosure
HELPS PREVENT VIDEO SURVEILLANCE FALSE ALARMS
The stainless steel camera enclosure features a ¾-in. gauge ballistic three-ply polycarbonate window that is capable of stopping 9-mm. or 38-caliber bullets. The enclosure's cylindrical rotating design helps maintain the image in an upright position when the housing is mounted upside-down on a ceiling or vertically on a wall or post. The housing can also help prevent video surveillance false alarms because it was designed to withstand physical attacks on cameras in remote and weatherprone locations. The housing maintains the camera's preset orientation to the target area with a tamper-resistant bracket mount that aligns on horizontal and vertical axes. It then locks into place with a proprietary hex wrench so that positioning cannot be altered by manual force. It has been force-tested to 500 lbs. The enclosure is UL-listed and has an IP-68 rating for water and dust exclusion. SecureCam, SecureVue Inc. (securevue.net) Circle No. 11 or visit securitysolutions.com/productinfo.

A CLOSER LOOK AT CARDS/READERS
Camera ID Reader and Software
FOR FRAUD DETECTION
The reader authenticates IDs by comparing the hidden electronic watermark printed on the cards with data extracted by optical character recognition (OCR). The system consists of a high-resolution digital camera encased in a small-footprint scanner that snaps an image of a card and transfers it via a USB connection directly to the supplier's proprietary software, IDscan. Upon receiving the data, the software can recognize and read driver's licenses from all states and more than 45 countries. The software can also share and save the information in multiple formats, thus easing integration into existing infrastructures. The software reads printed text using an OCR engine and “understands” 1D and 2D barcodes. The system is also Digimarc IDMarc-enabled, allowing it to extract and resolve digital watermarks embedded in the card's image. Applications include retail loss prevention, pharmacy/medical authentication, banking authentication, access control and government check-point authentication.
