Airport Security Act impacting, benefitting several companies

Visionics Corp., Minnetonka, Minn., has partnered with Raytheon Co., Lexington, Mass., to market facial recognition technology for airport security. Visionics has also announced an expansion of its U.S. and European offices, and the company will increase its sales and marketing force by 6 percent. ARINC Inc., Annapolis, Md., has formed an alliance with Visionics to promote and sell facial recognition to government agencies and the aviation industry.
Ultrak Inc., Lewisville, Texas, exhibited its solutions for airport security using network-based technology for video surveillance, access control and public address at the Airport Passenger Terminal Expo, held in Orlando, Fla.
Cintelia Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Cash Technologies Inc., Los Angeles, will team with Iridian Technologies Inc., Moorestown, N.J., to market biometric security systems based on Iridian's iris recognition technology for airports, borders and other applications.
AMCG, Marlborough, Mass., has entered into the United States market to help improve airport security. AMCG offers consulting services and developed a plan for the Israel Airport Authority.
Electronic Data Systems, Plano, Texas, has joined forces with Identix Inc., Los Gatos, Calif., to provide security services including biometric technology to U.S. airports.
Quantum Magnetics Inc., a subsidiary of InVision Technologies Inc., Newark, Calif., has been awarded the 2001 Aviation Security International Award of Excellence for its i-Portal 100 passenger scanning system.
Brivo Systems Inc., Arlington, Va., has created a formal partner program to facilitate platform-related relationships. Brivo created the Platform Partners Program for companies seeking to integrate their hardware with the Brivo Service Platform.
