Foxwoods installs Toshiba recorders Foxwoods Resort Casino has installed more than 350 Toshiba KV-7024A time-lapse recorders to address a growing need for video surveillance throughout its gaming facilities. Toshiba Security Products, Irvine, Calif., is also providing Foxwoods with implementation assistance through Z Marketing, a Trunbull, Conn.- based Toshiba representative firm.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is in its first year using an access control iris identification system developed by IriScan Inc., Marlton, N.J. It has already thwarted two inmate escape attempts at the Sarasota County Detection Center. The iris recognition system has also led to the discovery that a third inmate was admitted under a false identity.
American Protective Services, Oakland, Calif., has been awarded a three-year contract renewal with Universal Studios, Universal, Calif. In the contract, APS provides security planning, personnel and integrated systems for the safety and security of tourists, employees and celebrities.
The United States Department of State has named 3M, St. Paul, Minn., an approved supplier of window film for U.S. embassy security upgrades throughout the world. Only five companies have received this designation.
Electronic Systems USA Inc., Louisville, Ky., has completed its first NexSys system installation utilizing a fiber optic backbone developed by Raytheon Control-By-Light. The installation of NexSys at the San Jose International Airport, San Jose, Calif., is expected to improve the facility's operational efficiency. Electronic Systems recently announced a definitive agreement with Raytheon Control-By-Light to resell Raytheon's Lonworks-based fiber optic family of routers and repeaters.
Sensormatic Electronics Corp., Boca Raton, Fla., signed an agreement with FDB, Denmark's largest supermarket retailer, to install Sensormatic's UltraMax electronic article surveillance technology in order to implement a source tagging program. FDB operates more than 1,200 stores throughout the country.
Nestor Inc., Providence, R.I., announced that UC Card of Japan has licensed PRISM Credit, Nestor's fraud detection system, to protect more than $18 billion that is charged annually by its more than 13 million credit card customers.
The 1,500-student Harriett B. Stowe Elementary School in Chicago features a comprehensive pupil and building security system that is keyless and biometrically protected. Identix Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., joined Siemens Building Technology, Oracle Corp., Wink Inc., and Counter Technology Inc. in providing elements of the system which was designed and installed in the model school as a pilot program by SecurCom Inc., an Illinois systems integrator that has helped pioneer biometric-based security solutions.
The East Stroudsburg ISD High School has chosen Intelligent Selection by Gray Electronics, Kyle, Texas, for its network video security system. According to the company, the system was chosen because it allowed the school district to have selected digital pictures captured and stored on network databases automatically, without security guard operators.
The DC-One electronic locking systems by TimeLox, Landskrona, Sweden, has been installed and is operational at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
Hertz's Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport facility has added a pneumatic bollard protection system from Delta Scientific Corp., Valencia, Calif. The TT203 High Security Bollard System has been installed at the entrance and exit lanes of the car lot.
A major national department store chain has installed TeleSite QuickSilver systems made by TeleSite USA Inc., Tenafly, N.J., to assist in loss prevention.
