Applications: Carnival Cruise Lines installs A-PASS security systems

Carnival Cruise Lines has entered into a contract with Security Identification Systems Corp., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., for installation of the A-PASS security systems. A-PASS provides high-speed, interactive, photo identification and access control screening and identification of personnel.

Zebra Technologies, Camarillo, Calif., entered into an agreement with Access International Ltd., Colombo, Sri Lanka, for the production of national drivers licenses for the Department of Motor Traffic in Sri Lanka.

Group 4 Securitas Technology, Carson, Calif., has been awarded a project to install its AMAG system - linked to 1,000 card readers - at the Pentagon.

Cornell Communications Inc., Milwaukee, has announced the fabrication of Rescue Assistance Systems for multiple Milwaukee Public School District high schools. The project will allow physically challenged individuals to signal when they require evacuation assistance.

Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, Nashville, Tenn., has selected the NiceVision digital CCTV recording system by Nice Systems, Secaucus, N.J., to provide continuous video surveillance and recording at the Nashville International Airport.

Telstra Corp., a telecommunications provider in Australia, has chosen Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sensormatic's C*CURE security management system, and San Jose, Calif.-based Motorola's M-Smart access control readers, to install company wide.

Southwest Airlines, Dallas, has bought ExitSentry from Ross Technologies, St. Louis, Mo., to install in eight cities that Southwest serves. Exit-Sentry provides immediate detection and alarm coverage when a person goes the opposite direction in a one-way exit late and two video surveillance cameras with stopmotion create high-definition documentary evidence for security and law enforcement officials if a violation occurs.

Israeli Ministry of Defense and Israeli National Police have chosen plastic card printers, ID software and cameras from Credentia, Minnetonka, Minn., as part of a multi-vendor, biometrics-based identification solution.

Checkpoint Systems Inc., Thorofare, N.J., has signed as a VAR Thoroughbred Technologies, Sugar Land, Texas. The new relationship integrates Checkpoint's Performa RFID hardware with Thoroughbred's OPUS item management software, creating the Intelligent File Management System.

The Traf-O-Data Group of Companies, Richmond, BC, Canada, has fitted TrizecHahn Office Towers in Calgary, Vancouver, Concord, Calif., and Atlanta with integrated parking and building access control systems.

Galaxy Control Systems, Walkerville, Md., working in conjunction with Galaxy dealer, Infiniti Integrated Security, Fairport, N.Y., has donated a complete access control system to the New York branch of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

DFW International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, has installed the PassKey electronic parking payment system that uses wireless technology and software from Intermec's Dallas-based Amtech Systems Division.

KeyTrak Inc., Atlanta, has announced that its new valet parking computerized key control system has been installed at a facility at Birmingham International Airport, Birmingham, Ala.

The Pentagon has installed the Unican 4000 Series Programmable Pushbutton Lock from Ilco Unican, Winston-Salem, N.C.
