MERGERS/ACQUISITIONS
Honeywell, Syosset, N.Y., has acquired Edgelinx Systems, Toronto, a provider of visitor management systems for public and private facilities.
Alarm Security Group LLC, Beltsville, Md., has acquired Argus Security Systems, McAllen, Texas, a security systems seller and installer.
T&M Protection Resources, New York, has acquired Forensic Investigative Associates Inc., an international investigations firm headquartered in New York City.
Spectrum Sciences and Software Holdings Corp., Ft. Walton, Beach, Fla., intends to acquire Inland Fabricators LLC, a Louisiana-based company engaged in large-scale pipe fabrication for government and private sector companies.
Schneider Electric, Rueil-Malmaison, France, has acquired Andover, Mass.-based Andover Controls Corp.
Marsh and McLennan Co., New York, has agreed to purchase security consultant Kroll Inc., New York, for $1.9 billion in cash.
AGREEMENTS
Videolarm, Atlanta, has named Canon U.S.A. Inc., Lake Success, N.Y., as a distributor for Videolarm's FusionDome products for use with Canon network video cameras. Videolarm has also named ASR Enterprises, Downingtown, Pa., as its sales representative group in the mid-Atlantic states.
Decision Strategies, Washington, D.C., an investigative firm, has partnered with Skol and Serna, a training and advising firm in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Intelli-Check Inc., Woodbury, N.Y., and EasyLobby Inc., Needham, Mass., have partnered to jointly market an automated identification verification system for visitor management and lobby security. Intelli-Check has also partnered with Goddard Technology Corp., Greenville, S.C., to offer an advanced digital imaging and data-management solution.
Indala Corp., San Jose, Calif., has entered into agreements with four major contact smart chip module manufacturers to participate in its FlexSmart Pilot Program. The manufacturers are Axalto (formerly Schlumberger); Datakey; Gemplus; and Giesecke and Devrient.
Vanguard Response Systems Inc., Ottawa, has entered into a strategic alliance with Giuliani Partners LLC, New York, to jointly market products that improve readiness and response capability against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive devices.
Diebold Inc., North Canton, Ohio, has entered into a re-seller agreement to offer alarm and CCTV products from Bosch Security Systems for the government market.
Honeywell has named Axis Communications, Chelmsford, Mass., as a strategic supplier. Axis will supply Honeywell with network video products.
U.K.-based Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd. has appointed WSA Fire Systems, Manalapan, N.J. as the stocking, sales and distribution center in the U.S. for its fire protection products.
Designed Security Inc., Bastrop, Texas, has named Ascheman Marketing as its representative for Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
Security International, parent company of Integral Technologies, Indianapolis, has named SpecPoint, Atlanta, as a manufacturer's representative firm in the Central and Southern Florida region. The company has also named Systems Solutions, Minneapolis, as representatives in the Northern Plains region. Additionally, ALARMAX, Pittsburgh, has agreed to offer the new DVX 1000 family of DVRs from Integral Technologies.
365 Main, a San Francisco-based data center, has entered a strategic partnership with Unwired Ltd., San Francisco, a wireless broadband carrier, to offer wireless redundancy to ensure business continuity for its customers.
ImageWare Systems Inc., San Diego, has signed an agreement with Hewlett-Packard that allows for the incorporation of ImageWare's digital imaging, identification and biometric technologies into HP's Adaptive Enterprise security strategy for the U.S. federal government.
Cenuco Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., and FCI Associates, Colorado Springs, Colo., have signed an agreement under which FCI will be Cenuco's nationwide CCTV and remote video monitoring systems installation partner, and will also resell Cenuco's remote video monitoring systems and services.
Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd., Chicago, has announced a $1 million investment in C-Signature, a biometric company creating authentication and identity management technology.
