ISC Expo forms team with AC&SSI
The International Security Conference and Exposition (ISC Expo) is forming a partnership with Access Control and Security Systems Integration magazine to develop a targeted security management conference track for the conference in New York, Aug. 30-Sept. 1. Discussions sponsored by the magazine will provide security system solutions to issues facing security professionals. End-users from Fortune 500 companies will discuss trends and share information about financial, government, transportation, education and retail businesses.
Neusciences, based in Southampton, U.K., is a new business in the biometrics and intelligent technologies market. Building on a foundation of neural networks, neurofuzzy and genetic algorithms, the company develops biometrics-based security and access control solutions.
Keyware Technologies, Woburn, Mass., will use card technology by Schlumberger, New York, as a platform for Keyware's Layered Biometric Verification technology.
New England Security and Communications Inc. (NESC), Milford, Mass., has formed a partnership with Toronto-based RBH Technologies to distribute RBH's Axiom III access control hardware and software products in the United States, according to NESC.
CSI Control Systems International Inc., Dallas, has opened a branch office in Michigan, the company's 12th systems integration office in the United States.
The Access Control Division of Sensormatic Electronic Corp., Boca Raton, Fla., has formed a partnership with Absolutely Software Inc. (Absoft), also in Boca Raton. Absoft will incorporate its embedded paging and e-mail features into Sensormatic's C*Cure 800 v3.1 integrated access control and alarm monitoring system.
IriScan Inc., which develops iris recognition technology in Marlton, N.J., has formed an alliance with New York-based PenOp, a manufacturer of electronic signature products. They will combine the iris recognition and signature dynamics technologies to combat Internet fraud and theft.
Sensormatic has launched the CustomerCare program to ship products by Sensormatic subsidiaries American Dynamics, Robot and Software House on the same day they are ordered. The company also has expanded the warranty on the Robot and American Dynamics multiplexers to five years. The CustomerCare program will offer a toll-free telephone number - 800-507-6268 - for customer service and on-line support. The list of same-day-ship products will be included in the 1999 on-line catalog at www.sensormatic.com.
The Electrical Products Division of Federal Signal Corp., University Park, Ill., has acquired Atkinson Dynamics, a supplier of heavy-duty industrial intercoms. Atkinson's operations were moved from San Francisco to Federal Signal Corp.'s headquarters.
HID Corp., Irvine Calif., announced at ISC-West in Las Vegas that more than 25 companies will use its asset management RFID ProxTrak technology in their products.
ADT Security Services Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., has agreed to sell, install and service the Threshold line of computer-based access control systems manufactured by Checkpoint Access Control Products Group, a division of Checkpoint Systems Inc., Thorofare, N.J.
The U.S. division of Los Angeles-based Paradox Security Systems has selected the manufacturers' representative firm of Bassett Sales Corp., N. Hollywood, Calif., to represent its security products in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii. Heitnereps Inc., Marietta, Ga., has been appointed an independent sales representative.
Safe Link Corp., Austin, Texas, has formed a partnership with BellSouth Wireless Data, Woodbridge, N.J., to provide the Sure Signal wireless transmission service, which transports alarm signals to monitoring stations without interruption. The product uses a radio link, data line or dial-up phone line.Identatronics, Elk Grove, Ill., has opened a Midwest sales office in Cleveland.
Access Specialties, St. Paul, Minn., has formed a partnership with HID Corp., Irvine, Calif., to use HID's asset management tags in its Access Gold access control and security management system.
Philips Electronics, New York, announced at ISC West/Las Vegas plans to combine the Lancaster, Pa.-based Communication & Security Systems sales organization with the Atlanta-based Observation Systems group to form a unified sales and marketing security group. The name of the group will be Philips Communication & Security Systems (CSS), which will be part of the Philips professional sales organization in Atlanta.
Dallas-based Prism Video announces the approval of a ninth patent for its video compression technology relating in this case to its Mole product line. The line covers video surveillance of remote locations, over a LAN or the Internet, and digital video recording.
Irving Saphirstein, founder of Locknetics in Forestville, Conn., has formed a new company called Delt-Rex Door Controls, LLC. It designs and manufactures innovative and reliable code-conforming door control systems with a line of push plate controls, exit releases, power supplies and electromagnetic locks.
Imaging Technology Corp., Hudson, Mass., has formed a partnership with Polaroid Corp., Bedford, Mass., to provide a digital solution for photo identification cards. Based on ITC's Identifier for Windows software, Polaroid offers end-users the "ID Card Maker" family of photo ID software packages, according to ITC.
RBH Access Technologies Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and NESC Inc., Milford, Mass., have finalized a distribution agreement for RBH's access control products in the United States. NESC will market and distribute the Axion III line of access control hardware and software products in all 50 states.
Syracuse, N.Y.-based distributor WYNIT has added the Episuite photo ID software by G&A Imaging, Hull, Quebec, Canada, to its line of digital imaging and peripheral products.

A patent has been issued for the Redundant Alarm Monitoring System technology that allows Simplex, Gardner, Mass., to reroute incoming alarm control panel messages to the company's remote back-up facility in Florida during times of duress in the Central Monitoring Center.
