Vision Research Corp. has appointed Multi-Tech Reps Inc. as its sales representative in the Midwest, including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Doncor Sales of Fairlawn, N.J., will manage contract hardware and locksmith whole accounts in the New York City, northern New Jersey area for DynaLock Corp. Kolram Security Group, North Haven, Conn., will be DynaLock's representative in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and eastern Pennsylvania.

Notifier, a division of Pittway Corp., purchased 60 percent of Chris Lovett Enterprises, an Australian fire alarm distributor d.b.a. Notifier Australia, to form Notifier Australia Ltd.

The J.L. Torbeck Company, a Pinkerton company, relocated its Indianapolis branch to a 7,500-square-foot building at 5348 Victory Drive. Judy Spray has been named district office and operations manager. The company designs, engineers, installs and supports integrated security systems.

Micron Communications authorized the French company Rep'Tronic to sell and distribute its MicroStamp remote intelligent communications (RIC) and Ambit families of products in France.

Monitor Dynamics offers marketing and customer support via the Internet at http://www.mdisafenet.com. The MDI mail server also supports a users group mailing list to allow SAFEnet customers to share information.

Ameritech and Romex Security Systems have formed one of the biggest security providers in Canada. Ameritech's Canadian security monitoring subsidiary, SecurityLink from Ameritech, acquired Romex' business, including monitoring contracts for commercial and residential accounts, its alarm monitoring station and its regional alarm response services.

Novi Technologies Group (NTG) appointed two manufacturer's representative groups for its NoviLock electronic locking devices. Dwight Boyer Associates of Charlotte, N.C., will represent NTG in Florida, and Coffman Associates will represent NTG in southern California and southern Nevada.

Sensar - the exclusive distributor of IrisIdent identity verification products - has signed a development, distribution and supply agreement with Oki Electric Industry Co., a supplier of automatic teller machines (ATMs) in Japan. This expands on a 1995 contract that granted Oki exclusive rights to Sensar's IrisIdent products for the Japanese banking industry. Oki now has exclusive rights to all markets in Japan and non-exclusive rights for banking applications in 10 Pacific Rim countries.

Acme Security Systems Wholesale Division has been re-named Access Hardware Supply Inc., and will be located in a new facility with more warehouse space at 14359 Catalina St., San Leandro, CA 94577.

ADT Security Systems is establishing an authorized dealer program in British Columbia with expansion planned throughout Canada. ADT will offer established independent security companies the opportunity to operate as ADT Security Systems authorized dealers without relinquishing ownership of their own businesses.

Federal Fire and Safety Inc. has been named a distributor for the System 3000 alarm monitoring system from Digitize Inc. The company will sell, install and service the system throughout Washington and Idaho.

CPAD Technologies and Paradigm Advanced Technologies have entered into a development alliance. CPAD's explosives detection systems (V-bEDS), and Paradigm's VideoBank digital video surveillance software will be combined to detect vehicle-borne bombs.

Intelligent Controls has opened a new office in Vancouver, British Columbia. Carey Diepenbeck has been named as Canadian sales manager.

Primary Image, an England-based manufacturer of digital video technologies, has opened a security division in Orlando, Fla., that will target the CCTV market. The division will also provide consultancy advice, product training and systems support.
