Hirsch honored at high-tech ceremony Hirsch Electronics Corp., Irvine, Calif., was honored by the Orange County Council of the American Electronics Association at its sixth annual High-Tech awards. Hirsch was awarded the Innovative Technology/Product 1999 trophy for its Momentum security management system, a Windows NT-based access control system for enterprise-class applications.
Simplex Time Recorder Co., Gardner, Mass., has redesigned its Web site to offer Internet users a vertical market approach to accessing information about the company's products, services and capabilities. The Web site at www. simplexnet.com includes an Architect and Engineer Community site that provides specifiers of building systems with data sheets, design applications, product specifications and other information. Simplex has also announced the acquisition of Acsel S.A., a Monterrey, Mexico-based firm.
Casi-Rusco, Boca Raton, Fla., a division of SLC Technologies, has announced its certification by Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider. The designation means that Casi-Rusco meets intensive Microsoft Technical require- ments, and gains access to Microsoft technology, training and product information.
Northern Computers Inc., Milwaukee, has built a stress test lab for its access control software. The stress test was built to ensure Northern's software can meet demanding customer needs. Fifty panels, 200 cards and 200 proximity readers comprise the stress test lab. The 200 readers read the 200 cards creating almost 3,000 transactions at one time, thus simulating a live customer situation such as a first shift starting with multiple sites.
C-Phone Corp., Wilmington, N.C., has announced that Checkpoint Systems Inc. will market C-Phone's DS-324 system to the retail industry. The system, which Checkpoint will offer to its retail customers under the brand name "The Raven," will enable retailers with multiple locations to monitor in-store activities including security, service management, merchandising and employees - all from a central location.
Linear Corp., Carlsbad, Calif., has announced the purchase of MultiplexTechnology Inc., Brea, Calif., a manufacturer and designer of multiple-location video and telecom- munications distribution systems for the home.
HID Corp., Irvine Calif., has completed the final stage of ISO 9001 certification. The comprehensive system audits cover every aspect of HID operations. The certification is sanctioned by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and its European counterpart, the Registrars Accreditation Board (RAB).
Hanchett Entry Systems has presented its Leadership Award to Security Lock Distributors, Needham Heights, Mass., naming the company the "Top Performing Account" in the nation for the second consecutive year.
First Security Services Corp., Boston, has opened an Investigative Service Division office in Orlando, Fla, its first office in Florida.
ViaNet identity information software produced by Credentia, Minnetonka, Minn., has been selected as one of eight finalists for Novell's annual Network Developers Award. ViaNet is a web-based application that allows users to insert and retrieve demographic data, biometric templates and color images from Novell Directory Services or other ODBC data source.
PrivaCD, the CD-ROM encryption software by Global Technologies Group Inc., Arlington, Va., is now compatible with Rimage Corp.'s line of CD-recordable products. This combination allows organizations to protect confidential information on published and duplicated CD-recordable discs produced by Rimage's products.
Global Technologies Group Inc. (GTGI), and RedCreek Communications, Newark, Calif., Arlington, Va., have entered a marketing partnership.
