Datacard Group, Minnetonka, Minn., has joined GlobalPlatform, a worldwide organization created by Visa International, San Francisco. The organization is dedicated to the development of smart card standards and the advancement of multi-application smart cards.

Senstar-Stellar Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., is the exclusive dealer of Racon bistatic microwave products. The offering was made possible by the acquisition of the Racon microwave product line by the Magal Group, which partially owns Senstar-Stellar Inc.

Infraworks Corp., Austin, Texas, has opened an office in Boston, part of a national expansion.

Ackerman Security Systems, Atlanta, has acquired Sound Technology Inc., Atlanta. Sound Technology has become Ackerman Technology Group, a division of Ackerman Security Systems.

International Electronics (IEI), Canton, Mass., has formed sales and product training courses and has formed an education products group to deliver focused training in access control, sales, upsell, product and product positioning for dealers.

TRI-ED Distribution Inc., Fountain Valley, Calif., has opened a distribution sales center in Milford, Conn.

Interactive Technologies Inc., has announced the winners of the fourth annual 1999 Wireless Awards contest. The winners are: best wireless residential installation - Jeffrey D. Evelyn of J.E. Security Systems and Services Inc.; best wireless commercial installation - Bill Conaty and Sean McCracken of Conaty Communications Inc.; most innovative use of wireless technology -Robert G. Noe of AgriZap Inc.; merit award for best wireless residential installation - Marshall Naddler of CrimeGuard Security Systems; merit award for best wireless commercial installation - Marvin Crane of ABC Alarm & Security Corp.; merit award for most innovative use of wireless technology - Dwight Schaubach of JohnsBrothers Inc.

The site also allows Web shoppers to place orders and track their status automatically.

Axcess Inc., Dallas, has been placed on dbusiness.com's list of 50 emerging Dallas-based companies for the second quarter of 2000.

Teleste Surveillance Networks, Georgetown, Texas, has opened its new U.S. sales office in Georgetown. The office was opened to better serve the growing customer base in the North and Latin American markets.

Unican Security Systems Ltd., Montreal, has signed an international agreement with Chubb Security Systems, Toronto, to supply safe locks and safe/vault components.

Ademco Group/Pittway, Syosset, N.Y., has acquired the access control software division of MIC, Herndon, Va.
