In “Access Control Goes Online” in the July issue of Access Control & Security Systems (IP Security supplement, page 8), Steve Van Till of Brivo Systems was quoted incorrectly as saying that the uptake of IP access control has not been as rapid as expected. To the contrary, Mr. Van Till indicates that IP access control is in fact growing rapidly. It is non-control-panel-based, Power-over-Ethernet products that have not been requested by customers at the rate much of the press would suggest, primarily due to UL-related issues, according to Mr. Van Till.
