Pittway Corp. acquires Northern Computers
Pittway Corp., Syosset, N.Y., has acquired all the stock of Northern Computers Inc., Milwaukee, a supplier of electronic access control systems. Northern Computers will operate as part of the newly formed Ademco Systems Group, which markets commercial intrusion alarm systems, CCTV systems and long-range radio products. During the final quarter of 1998, Ademco also acquired Video Controls Limited, a U.K. manufacturer of CCTV domes, and Rapid Eye, a manufacturer of video transmission equipment.
Tilton named president of Recognition Systems
Lou Tilton has succeeded the retiring Bill Wilson as president of Recognition Systems Inc., Campbell, Calif. Tilton joined the manufacturer of hand geometry readers as vice president of sales in February 1998 and takes the helm at a time when biometric systems are entering the mainstream.
