Porta-King's Durasteel pre-assembled buildings provide a clean look that blends in with high-tech architectural designs, says the Earth City, Mo.-based company. Six-inch-radius corners are flush-mounted, and all seams are completely filled, sanded and finished for a smooth surface. Buildings arrive ready to use, needing only a single-phase power source to be up and running. The guard houses can be customized by combining adaptable structural materials, glazing and acrylic finishes. Porta-King also offers Duraluminum pre-assembled buildings, which have non-weld construction for easy part replacement. Features include rust-free aluminum treadplate floors, anodized aluminum window frames and ceiling-suspended aluminum doors with ball-bearing rollers that eliminate door track wear-and-tear, according to the company.

Par-Kut International Inc., Harrison Township, Mich., offers guard houses with bullet-resistant armored construction. The structures have gun ports, glass-clad polycarbonate viewing windows, interior dimmable lighting and climate control. Designers can specify the number of windows and location of doors and gun ports. Ballistic steel and fiberglass-reinforced plastic provide UL level 8 protection. National Partitions', Hialeah, Fla., pre-engineered Industrial Series buildings are used for guard houses, as well as low-cost housing, field offices and storage buildings. The structures are available in standard 10x10- and 24x32-foot sizes or custom sizes up to 40 feet wide. All units use 3-inch-thick walls, 4-foot roof panels and 26-gauge, stucco-embossed steel facings over 1-pound-density polystyrene foam core. Electrical and air-conditioning packages are available.

Little Buildings Inc., Romeo, Mich., offers pre-fabricated galvanized-steel buildings, including guard houses, access control stations and equipment enclosures. The buildings can be customized to include restrooms, handicapped access and HVAC. Paint finishes are oven-cured.
