Safe locks open in one step and relock automatically due to a motor-driven deadlatching lock bolt. Models 6124 and 6125 Comptronic locks from Sargent and Greenleaf, Nicholasville, Ky., include features such as feedback when the lock bolt extends, an improved internal relocker, PIN code position verification, time delay and multiple levels of access. They are available in three user configurations: single, multiple and dual. Additional options include keypad tamper indication, audit trail, time-delay override and duress. The 6125's lock bolt is a motorized push/pull design, and it will handle a force of up to 5.6 pounds. Both models are VdS Class 2 and UL Type 1. Sargent and Greenleaf's 6600 Series mechanical combination locks use an eccentric roller on the end of the drop lever and five false gates per wheel. The locks are available in 3-wheel and 4-wheel models. The series uses the same dials and rings as the 6700 Series and meets new UL standards for high-security combination locks that require two hours resistance to expert manipulation.
A fire alarm panel has digital communication capabilities and built-in, dual-phone-line connectors. Manufactured by Detection Systems Inc., Fairport, N.Y., the DS9400 is a microprocessor-based fire alarm control/communicator panel. The four-zone panel supports up to 20 conventional detectors per zone, and can be expanded to eight zones for a total of 160 two-wire smoke detectors. Two appliance circuits provide up to 4 amps of 24v power to operate horns, strobes, bells and other notification devices. The UL-listed device also features on-board and remote programming over phone lines and a 100-event log.
A 24-hour, real-time network security monitor for Windows NT is available from Intrusion Detection Inc., New York. The Kane Security Monitor (KSM) identifies security violations caused by outside hackers or inside authorized users and notifies security personnel through e-mail, fax, pager or audible alarm. KSM analyzes NT security event logs on NT servers and workstations and provides centralized collection of audit information, detects security abuse patterns and uses NT's event reporting ability.
Sequential or individual control of two exit devices, fire alarm interface, auto-operator interface and 12v or 24v output are features of the UL-listed 1406-04AO power supply for exit devices with 1550 electric latch retraction modifications manufactured by Architectural Control Systems Inc., St. Louis.
