PELCO EARNS LEADERSHIP AWARD FROM FROST AND SULLIVAN

Pelco, Clovis, Calif., has been awarded the 2002 Frost and Sullivan Market Engineering Leadership Award, given to companies that exhibit market share leadership through the implementation of superior engineering strategy. Pelco was honored this year based on the world video security-based applications market.

GE Industrial Systems, Plainville, Conn., will acquire Ion Track, Inc., Wilmington, Mass., a provider of trace detection systems for use in aviation security, embassy and high threat facility security, military force protection, and interdiction of illicit drugs at borders, prisons, and within the community.

Lenel Systems International Inc., Rochester, N.Y., has teamed with Sony Electronics, Park Ridge, N.J., to offer an integrated IP-based networked video surveillance, archive and storage solution.

ASSA ABLOY, Irvine, Calif., has announced that three of its business units, HID Corp., Card Technologies and Services (CTS), and the Research and Development Center, have attained ISO 9001 2000 certification, given to organizations that strive to enhance their performance through the implementation of a quality management system.

Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations, New York, and Attorney's Process and Investigation Services Inc. (API), Green Bay, Wis., have formed a joint venture to offer security and investigations resources and technologies to the worldwide gaming industry.

Synergistics Inc., Boston, a manufacturer of access control security systems for ATM vestibules and building security, has completed its merger with a corporation formed by Renaissance Industrial LLC.

Balfour Beatty, a worldwide construction and building management firm based in the U.K., has formed a U.S.-based division to supply physical security products, including electronic access control and integrated digital video recording. This division has been established with the acquisition of Security International, Franklin, Wis., and will retain the Security International name.

ESSEX Industries, New Haven, Conn., has released Building Security, a nationwide program to provide a single source for commercial security equipment, consulting and services. Products available through ESSEX Building Security range from locks and doors to electronic systems for alarms, access control, badging and CCTV and consulting services.

Bioscrypt Inc., Toronto, has announced that GE Interlogix's CASI division is an official Bioscrypt distributor, thereby enabling the company to offer Bioscrypt's Veri-Series line of fingerprint-based biometrics products through its dealer network.

Winsted Corp., Minneapolis, has appointed GP Marketing, Redmond, Wash., as its representative in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Winsted has also appointed Crockett Sales Co., Dallas, as its representative in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Panasonic Security Systems, Secaucus, N.J., has made available a new network surveillance solution based on an extension to its WJ-HD500AV2 Hard Disk Recorder.
