• Delta Downs Race Track and Casino in Vinton, La., has implemented an RFID tagging system from Axcess Intl. Inc., Dallas, to prevent state-ordered shutdowns of its slot machine operations in the event of lost slot machine keys. The RFID tags are affixed to the keys and are identified at doorways to prevent them from being removed from the casino.

• Groton-Dunstable Regional High School in Groton, Mass., has chosen intelligent analog/addressable fire control panels from Silent Knight, Maple Grove, Minn., a part of Honeywell's Fire Group.

• The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will pilot EntryScan3 walk-through explosives detectors from GE Infrastructure, Wilton, Conn., as part of TSA's Transit and Rail Inspection Pilot (TRIP) program for screening rail passengers for explosives.

• The Airport Authority of Hong Kong has chosen to deploy passive UHF RFID technology from Matrics Inc., Rockville, Md., to increase security. The RFID reader infrastructure will be deployed across Hong Kong airport's extensive baggage handling facilities.

• Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas has deployed equipment to transmit video signals from cameras to monitors with unshielded twisted-pair wire from Network Video Technologies, Menlo Park, Calif.

• The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has contracted for guard force protection services from USProtect, Silver Spring, Md., for use at the Top Secret level.

• Munich, Germany, car park operator P+R Park & Ride has implemented a fully integrated CCTV system from Geutebrück, Windhagen, Germany. The networked CCTV system replaced eight separate VCR-based analog systems.

• The Wayne County Public School system in North Carolina has chosen the Instant Alert system from Honeywell, Minneapolis, to enable the district to instantly deliver both emergency and everyday messages to parents and guardians of 19,000 students using wireless devices.

• Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) has chosen Digital Video Recorder (DVR) systems from March Networks, Ottawa, as part of a security system upgrade. The DVRs will be used at SMRT stations to monitor platform activities.

• The state of Maryland has purchased identification verification technology from Intelli-Check Inc., Woodbury, N.Y., to help combat identity fraud at Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) locations.

• The Seaside Police Department in Seaside, Calif., has chosen a bi-directional digital mugshot and booking solution from ImageWare Systems Inc., San Diego, to speed their booking and investigative procedures.
