The New Product of the Year Award showcases the most innovative product of the current year and recognizes the talent and commitment of the people involved in every aspect of development, from concept through sales. This year's contest features 69 product entries. Judging took place during the GovSec show in Washington, D.C., July 28. The judges selected these 20 finalists — presented here in alphabetical order. Now readers may vote for a final winner.

The stand-alone fingerprint ID door lock has a battery-operated, biometric lock that includes a latch and dead bolt, activated by fingerprint recognition.
