Pinkerton, Encino, Calif., has given Minot Dodson its first Minot Dodson Award for Meritorious Service. It will be an annual award, given in Dodson's honor to a Pinkerton manager who has demonstrated a commitment to improving the selection, training, education and professional development of security practitioners and to elevating the professionalism of the security industry. "Colonel" Dodson, as he is called in deference to his status as a retired Army colonel, has retired from Pinkerton after 25 years of service but will remain active as a consultant to Don Walker, Pinkerton's executive vice president.
David Gibbs, former director of strategic partnering for Pinkerton, Encino, Calif., has been promoted to general manger of Pinkerton's consulting group. The company has appointed Frederick London to the positions of vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary.
Carolyn Childress has been appointed plant manager of Atlas/Soundolier's principal manufacturing facility in Ennis, Texas. She will be responsible for manufacturing operations, including speaker assembly, metal fabrication and the company's electrostatic metal coating line. The company has headquarters in Fenton, Mo.
Ultrak, Lewisville, Texas, welcomes Ted Wlazlowski as executive vice president of professional security. He will oversee the company's professional security groups worldwide, including CCTV, card access, video switching/transmission and integrated systems businesses for commercial building markets.
CSI Control Systems International, Carrollton, Texas, has promoted Roy Lamkin to president and chief operating officer. Lamkin will oversee CSI operations worldwide and participate in strategic planning and acquisitions.
Wayne Wilkerson has been named president and chief executive officer of Intellikey Corp., Melbourne, Fla. Wilkerson has nearly three decades of administrative and marketing management experience.
Federal APD, Novi, Mich., has appointed Paublo Martin Garrido as international regional sales manager for Latin American operations. Tom Rollo, who has held management positions with the company since 1984, has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mark McNicholas, who has been with the company since 1991, has been named national sales manager.
Stanley Ling has joined Recognition Systems, Campbell, Calif., as director of operations. Most recently, Ling was in manufacturing management at Litton Solid State division.
Valerie Windsor, who joined Tamron Bronica, Farmingdale, N.Y., in 1995, has been named head of the company's newly organized OEM division. Eugene Dyas has been appointed as a customer support specialist for the company's industrial optics division.
Stephen Sharpe, a consultant to the safe and lock industry, will provide marketing support and training services to the Mas-Hamilton Group, Lexington, Ky. His first project will be to create a sales training video for the company's dealers and distributors.
David Welch has been named managing director of Northern Computers (UK) Ltd. He is responsible for European operations, including Germany and France. Northern Computers Inc. is based in Milwaukee.
Mosler, Hamilton, Ohio, has appointed Thomas Bell as senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Ron Watson as senior vice president, sales and marketing.
