3VR Security Inc. has introduced a searchable surveillance system that speeds up the process of criminal identification and helps stop a crime as it is occurring. The new system integrates the CrimeDex Suspect Database, developed by Amcrin Corp., to help bank, retail and law enforcement personnel identify criminals, expedite investigations and share critical information to stop fraud. The CrimeDex network includes thousands of criminal profiles and uses the system’s existing facial recognition analytics to alert businesses when a suspect enters a facility. It employs a combination of shared video, search and face recognition technologies to automatically detect and disrupt fraud offenders. Users can query a suspect instantly against historical archives stored in both the internal and shared criminal watchlists. CrimeDex is currently used by 295 banks and credit unions, 172 law enforcement agencies, 24 federal agencies, five retailers and seven private investigation organizations.
