Intelligent Monitoring System - American Fibertek
Jan 16, 2007 10:00 AM
The Afinety intelligent monitoring system from American Fibertek links to each unit in a network platform, providing the name and location of the site, rack identification, type of device in each slot, serial number and run-time hours. The system reports status on-demand so users can identify potential problems and take steps to alleviate them. Status indication includes power, video level to verify camera operation, optical loss, temperature, contact status and signal verification. In the event of an alarm, the system e-mails the administrator with status of the problem and reports an evaluation of the alarm and follow-up steps to be taken. No additional software or plug-in devices are required to allow remote capabilities. The system is also password-protected.
