IP Communicator - Fire-Lite Alarms Inc.
Mar 13, 2007 10:30 AM
The IPDACT communicator from Fire-Lite Alarms Inc. transmits information generated by a fire alarm control panel to a central station via the Internet. The system can use any Ethernet network connection, such as ADSL, a cable modem or T1 and allows for alarm transmissions of less than one second, thus improving response time and minimizing cost. The communicator does not require a public IP address and instead uses a DHCP client for automatic IP address configuration. It connects to the panel’s primary dialer port while using a standard telephone line as a secondary port. The system supports dual destination central station receiver IP addresses and uses Contact ID format. Data is encrypted with an AES 512-bit data encryption. The communicator is compatible with most central station formats and supports up to 3,000 accounts.
