CommScope Keyed Fiber LC Connectors

The Uniprise Keyed Fiber LC (Lucent) Connectors and Adapters from CommScope Inc. are designed to increase mechanical security for distribution networks and local area networks (LANs). Users benefit from special molded features on the plugs and color-coded keys in the adapter to reduce the chance of unauthorized connections. The color-coded system minimizes transmission problems while reducing installation time for field-mountable connectors. In order for a connection to be possible, plug adapter colors must match the connector colors. If the colors do not match, the keying features will prevent the connectors from mounting into the adapters, thus preventing the signal from passing between the connectors. Other features include RJ-style housing, a single-fiber ferrule, ceramic sleeves and 10 keys in distinct colors.
