The VisTrak system from Cross Match Technologies Inc. uses a digital camera, a badge printer, secure software and live scan fingerprint technology to accurately track visitors to a facility or an event. A simple sign-in/sign-out procedure uses a digital fingerprint capture scanner. Fingerprint template storage prohibits re-creation of fingerprints for the purpose of matching against databases. Other features include customized ID badges for each enrollee and assigned warning codes for undesirable visitors. The system’s intelligent fingerprint function captures four fingerprints in one step and tolerates “real-world” fingerprint conditions, such as dry, aged, missing or damaged fingers. For added security, fingerprint-matching thresholds automatically adjust to match the current Homeland security threat level. The system is available in a standalone or networked configuration for single or multiple doors, buildings and/or campus support. Visit crossmatch.com.
