The programmable SmartKey system from MTI-Andrews maximizes access to products and minimizes risk of theft. It enables disarming of a merchandising display's security alarms for a designated period of time before the system automatically rearms itself. The key can be programmed to work only for a specific period of time before having to be reactivated, thus preventing keys from being copied and passed along to others. It provides two levels of permissions: manager mode and employee mode, each with certain permission and security clearances built in. Employees are given their own programmed keys, each of which is encoded to his or her employee ID number. At the beginning of each shift, the manager programs each key to be deployed, thus giving the employee clearance to arm or disarm displays as needed. At the end of the specified period, the key automatically deactivates, rendering it useless. Visit mti-interactive.com.
