OnSSI IP Video Surveillance Platform

On-Net Surveillance Systems’ (OnSSI) Ocularis IP Video Surveillance Management and Control platform consists of an intuitive touch-screen interface that controls a suite of integrated software applications. The non-proprietary, open-architecture system allows security professionals to effectively identify incidents, notify and inform appropriate personnel on- and off-site and manage responsive actions. In addition, the system records all existing cameras for archival use and employs video analytics to detect and filter events.
“The intelligence built into Ocularis crosses several operational parameters,” says Gadi Piran, president and chief technology officer of OnSSI. “While everything is recorded for archival use, we are focused most on what security professionals need to see at any given moment. By using analytics to detect and filter events, Ocularis employs ‘push’ technologies similar to those found in IT management and reporting applications. Fewer people are required to monitor live activity, as the events that are important and meet established criteria are ‘pushed’ to the video screen.” Also as a result, bandwidth-use is reduced to provide an operational cost-savings for the user.
Software applications included in the Ocularis system are a virtual matrix/monitoring system; multi-site/multi-server network video recording and camera management platforms; a graphical user interface with touch-screen, map-driven navigation; a monitoring and control interface that uses a standard Internet browser; a portable client for remote camera access, monitoring and control; and content analytics modules for automated detection and policy-driven analysis of events. The system is scalable to any size application and can integrate OnSSI’s existing product offerings to offer existing users a migration path for Ocularis implementation. Visit onssi.com.
