Supercircuits MDVR14UG Micro-DVR

Designed for covert applications, Supercircuits’ MDVR14UG micro-DVR is a self-contained video recorder and playback system that can be concealed in small objects, such as soda cans, thermostats (see photo) and clocks, in addition to wearable covert gear. It measures less than 2 in. x 2 in. and features the company’s PC-208 covert color video camera, measuring 0.31-in. square. The micro-DVR features full resolution recording at 30 frames-per-second, motion detection, direct playback and a removable Secure Digital memory card used for playback on a computer. The camera and DVR are powered by either a hard-wired power supply for round-the-clock operation or an optional rechargeable lithium battery, which provides hours of self-contained covert surveillance. According to Supercircuits, covert devices have many capabilities for other user groups, including retailers, who can use covert cameras and DVRs to help nab shoplifters, and corporate security professionals, who may use them to keep an eye on their employees.
