Toshiba Low-Light Camera
Oct 23, 2007 10:09 AM
The Toshiba IK-1000 low-light camera captures high-resolution color surveillance video at 30 frames-per-second (fps) in the dark. It incorporates a Peltier active cooled electron-multiplying charge-coupled device (EMCCD) to offer minimum illumination of 0.00025 lux or approximately 30 times the sensitivity of a standard low-light camera. The EMCCD increases sensitivity at fast speeds without the readout noise of traditional CCDs. The camera also features a 50-dB signal-to-noise ratio to provide sharpness in all lighting conditions. Other features include a ½-in. sensor to produce images at resolutions of 658x496 in illumination levels at or above moonlight, RS-232C camera control, 16-area selectable backlight compensation and compact dimensions of 2.3-in x 2.3-in x 5.2-in.
