Zorro by Video Domain Technologies is a covert camera and digital video recorder housed in a small sensor case that features a small camera hole and LEDs placed under the front cover. Recorded images are stored on removable mini Secure Digital (SD) cards, which can be examined on any PC or pocket PC using a mini SD card reader. The plug-and-play unit features video motion detection (VMD) based on Texas Instruments’ DSP digital media processing platform. When combined with PIR technology, the VMD helps reduce false alarms and storage space. The standard model produces 640x480 image quality, and the megapixel model produces 1,280x960 image quality. The images are date- and time-stamped and watermarked to meet evidentiary standards. The unit is password-protected and includes an automatic recovery function for use during power failures. Users can set a built-in weekly scheduler for automatic scheduled activation, choose from five levels of recording quality, define relevant VMD areas, define event triggers and define post-alarm recording functions.
