Users in the healthcare industry can track and locate high-value mobile medical assets in real-time from any PC in their facility with the Assetrac system from Xmark Corp. Each asset the user wishes to track is equipped with a 2-in.x1-in.x0.35-in. radio frequency asset tag weighing less than 0.5 oz. The facility is then equipped with a network of devices installed at strategic points to track the location of the tags and monitor their movement through exits or zones. The tag features a 16-sec. transmission rate, a three-year battery life and is equipped with an anti-tamper mechanism. Device infrastructure can be installed on an existing Ethernet network and interfaced with Wi-Fi networks that can display data on Wi-Fi-enabled tags and devices.
