Zistos Dual-View Under-the-Door Camera
Aug 31, 2007 9:16 AM
When inserted under a door, the Zistos Dual-View Under-the-Door Camera, or UDCD, allows a user to covertly view 15- to 20-ft. into a dark room and assess any hidden threat in the room’s interior. It features two high-resolution, low-light image sensors that toggle from one to the other and employs infrared illumination, video-frame integration and an ultra-sensitive audio microphone. After providing the user with an initial view of the room with its forward-looking sensor, the camera then transitions to use its second sensor, designed to give a high-resolution image of the doorknob and frame. Users can then determine whether the door is barricaded or rigged with an explosive. The camera can be slipped under any door with a ¼-in. clearance and includes a 6-ft. telescoping pole to allow deployment at a safe distance from the door. It is suitable for use in law enforcement applications where complete situational awareness often produces a more desirable outcome and faster conflict resolutions.
