ASG Security Summit emphasizes enterprise security

ASG, an independent integrator of enterprise security solutions, welcomed more than 250 security industry professionals to Seattle's Qwest Field for the sixth annual ASG Security Summit and Expo on Oct. 19. The summit, which focused on "The New Language of Security: The Expression of Value in a Bottom-Line World," provided industry experts and technology vendors with the opportunity to learn about the latest enterprise security strategies, technologies and trends.
"This year's event focused on creating a language around value that could be shared by the CEO and the security executive," says Phil Aronson, chief executive officer of ASG. "Bridging the two worlds allows executives and boards to commit resources to enterprise security because they understand the value towards their mission and strategic business plan."
The summit featured several keynote speakers from industry organizations including Microsoft, IKON Communications, and Tatum Partners. Sponsors of the event included Lenel Systems Intl. Inc., ASSA ABLOY, GE Security, Cernium Inc., Axis Communications, HID Global and Sony Security and IP Monitoring Systems.
"The summit continues to provide an interactive and educational forum to exchange ideas, present new security technologies and demystify myths surrounding the value and effectiveness of enterprise security," Lenel president Dave Cunningham says. "Speakers and technology vendors alike recognize that with the emphasis on the bottom line, security practices and technology continues to be scrutinized. While the investment in security can be significant, the risk of losing information and resources through disaster, fraud or theft is much greater, and the summit was effective in making that message clear."
