FOSE to feature government, industry executives

The 30th annual FOSE 2006 show, scheduled to begin today at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center will feature the following keynote speakers:
* Kevin Carroll, PEO, EIS, US Army and John Garing, CIO, DISA Moderator Tom Temin, senior vice president, editorial of PostNewsweek Tech Media will lead a discussion of the contracting landscape in the military services (7:30 a.m., March 7).
* Robert J. Stevens, president and CEO of Lockheed Martin will discuss the external forces which have combined to create an environment for government that is as difficult today as it has ever been (9 a.m., March 7).
* Richard Burk, chief architect in the Office of Management and Budget will talk about the future of enterprise architecture as Federal government agencies achieve their mission, consistent with Presidential policies and Congressional mandates (10 a.m., March 7).
* Paul Brinkley, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Business Transformation (AT&L), and Thomas Modly, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Financial Management (Comptroller) will talk about how the Department of Defense is transforming business processes (11:30 a.m., March 7).
* Karen Evans, an administrator with E-Government and Information Technology, will lead a panel discussion to explore the challenges and opportunities government faces in meeting mandates such as Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (11:30 a.m., March 7).
* Carol Bartz, president and CEO of Autodesk Inc., will talk about the dramatic impact of the digital design information revolution (1 p.m., March 7).
* Edward Meagher, deputy chief information officer with the Department of the Interior, will talk about the need for vision and leadership in transitioning government agencies (7:30 a.m., March 8).
* Scott McNealy, president and CEO of Sun Microsystems Inc., will discuss what we must all do to stay competitive in the global marketplace (9 a.m., March 8).
* John C. Johnson, assistant commissioner in the Office of Service Development and Delivery, Federal Technology Services, GSA will give an overview of the environment of choices he expects will be for government network services (11:30 a.m., March 8).
* John Chambers, president and CEO of Cisco Systems Inc., will explore the major market transition of converging data, voice, video and mobile technologies (1 p.m., March 8).
* Michael Abrashoff, author of "It's Your Ship," and former Commander of the U.S.S. Benfold, will discuss leadership and how under his command, the U.S.S. Benfold became regarded as the finest ship in the Pacific Fleet (9 a.m., March 9).
