Universal Protection holds terrorism awareness course

Universal Protection Service of Santa Ana, Calif., recently hosted a special Terrorism Awareness course provided by the Los Angeles Police Department's Operation Archangel. The purpose of the event was to enhance Universal Protection officers' preparation and enhance the protection of the public despite the growing concern and daily threat of terrorism.
During this intense training, Universal Protection officers ascertained vital information regarding recognizing and deterring threats to high rise and other critical facilities in the Los Angeles area. The training detailed known terrorist surveillance techniques, including graphic pictures and descriptions on how to recognize explosive devices and the damage they might cause.
"I am extremely pleased to know that I work for a company that takes the time to ensure the proper training is provided," says William Timberlake, director of security, 400 South Hope. "It is essential that we stay current as threats evolve and the security industry progresses. As long as we continue to take the possibility seriously and participate in the best training available, we will continue to provide paramount security services for the people and buildings of the Los Angeles community."
Recent research conducted by The Institute of Management and Administration (IOMA) indicates that less than 50 percent of all security officers have received terrorism awareness or response training. Universal Protection has expressed how increasingly critical it is to get this information to the security staff that protects the city of Los Angeles on a daily basis.
Knowledge of such significant information is vital in providing the most reliable and effective security services.
"The security industry is constantly evolving, and officers need to be aware of the most current threats and technologies," says Brian Cescolini, CEO, Universal. "At Universal, we understand the importance of providing ongoing training on these subjects, as well as using that knowledge throughout every service we provide."
