Computer Security for the Physical Security Manager
Discover what you need to know to be able to work closely with the information technology (IT) department in areas such as access control, video surveillance, and security systems. This session is not totally focused on convergence. It's about giving today's security manager an understanding of the terminology and tools necessary to communicate about the evolution of security with the IT security staff and management.

Ronald Lander, CPP, CMAS, Chief Specialist, Ultrasafe Security Solutions
James Flannigan, Ph.D., Executive Director, United Security Group

Corporate Security, Information Technology Security and the Inevitability of Convergence
Tunnel or silo vision on the part of business leaders and security practitioners has thwarted the progress of integrated and aligned corporate and information technology (IT) security. Corporate Security and IT Security departments, through their separation, have compounded the problem. This presentation argues that convergence is unavoidable. Topics covered include historical shortcomings, the true nature of corporate security, skills and skill deficiencies, missed opportunities and conflict of interest, board awakenings, change or be changed, and better careers and better business.

David Muir Burrill, Director, BurrillGreen Ltd.

Security's Role in the Emerging Enterprise Risk Model
The convergence of information security and traditional security―along with a holistic approach to enterprise risk management―creates new opportunities and challenges for those responsible for managing all risks, including security. Security risk management is evolving, and value is migrating from physical assets to information-based assets, due to advances in technology and organizational pressures created by regulatory issues. This session examines top convergence issues and focuses on how this evolution affects enterprise risk models. Hear experts on the panel debate and discuss the research driving important decisions about the enterprise risk model.

Tim Williams, CPP, Director, Global Security, Caterpillar
Ray O'Hara, CPP, Senior Vice-President, Vance-Garda

An In-Depth Study on Converging People, Processes and Technology
Using an interview format, First Data Corporation’s (FDC) security professionals will explain how FDC is achieving complete security convergence. Through a series of questions, we’ll discuss how the physical security and IT departments work together to converge their departments, using common policies and convergent technology solutions. They’ve enhanced the security environment overall, lowered costs, and are enforcing compliance and assisting in the continuity of a global business. Technology expertise as it applies to convergence strategies and concepts also is offered.

Laurie Aaron, Chairman/Director, Open Security Exchange/Quantum Secure
Ray O'Hara, CPP, Senior Managing Director, Vance
Adam Stanislaus, CPP, Vice President, Physical Security, First Data Corporation
John Thuener, Senior Vice President, Information Technology Risk & Information Security, First Data Corporation

The Convergence of Crisis Management and Business Continuity
There has been much discussion regarding the subject of security convergence of enterprise risk management, mainly around physical security and information technology (IT). However, one area that is often overlooked is the convergence of crisis management and business continuity. This presentation maps the convergence efforts of these two separate-but-related disciplines. It outlines the strategic nature of crisis management and business continuity and explains how they operate within emergency response and business recovery. It also shows how to integrate them into existing physical and IT security programs.

Donald Knox, CPP, Security Specialist, State Farm Insurance
Scott Watson, CPP, CFE, Principal Consultant and Chief Executive Officer, S.A. Watson & Associates, LLC
Jim Murray, CPP, Director, Crisis Management, First Data Corporation
Sam Stahl, CBCP, M.S., Manager, EMC Corporation

Data Center Security and Convergence in the Face of Regulation
While the field of data center security can be specialized, its application is far more extensive than it appears to be at first blush. Discussions about convergence, and the possible combination of physical and information security program elements into one application, are ever increasing. This presentation is not a step-by-step how-to but a review of the security elements involved, the regulations, standards, and best practices applicable, the current state of affairs in the Data Center Security area, and what convergence can do for the field. The presentation ends with both ‘what to expect’ and ‘conclusions’ for review.

Ryan Roberts, CPP, PSP, CSPM, Security Group Manager, Microsoft
