Defense giants to provide secure network, technology center for Homeland security

The Department of Homeland Security has awarded contracts to Northrop Grumman Corp. and Lockheed Martin to enhance security on the Homefront.
Northrop Grumman will design, operate and maintain the DHS classified network infrastructure for its headquarters and directorates nationwide, providing secure network services for approximately 600 federal, state and local sites.
Lockheed Martin has opened a new technology integration facility that will provide improved capabilities to connect dispersed Coast Guard assets at sea, in the air and on shore. The Maritime Domain Awareness Center (MDAC) develops, test and integrate systems being produced to support the U.S. Coast Guard's Deepwater program, key to maritime security.
