Members of the investment community and leaders in the security industry gathered at the fifth annual Security Growth Conference in early March to hear about promising middle-market business opportunities in the fast-growing security sector.
During the two-day, invitation-only conference, C--level executives from nearly 50 middle-market security industry firms, including companies such as 3VR Security, Westec Interactive, Kastle Systems, Sonitrol, ActivIdentity, BroadWare, Global Options Group and CoreStreet, presented their businesses to senior executives of the largest global security companies and members of the financial community.
The presenting companies offer products and services from three distinct sectors of the $200 billion security industry: physical security, identity solutions and IT security.
"This year's Security Growth Conference provided an ideal forum to network with key future business partners who will help us continue to grow Sonitrol's reach in strategic markets across the country," says Kevin Dowd, Chairman and CEO of Sonitrol Corp., Berwyn, Pa.
The approximately 250 attendees heard keynote addresses from two of the industry's leading global systems integrators, Brett Bontrager, president of Convergent Security for Stanley Security Solutions, Indianapolis; and Juan Vallejo, president and CEO of Securitas Systems Worldwide, Stockholm, who told the audience that global players are looking to specialize in vertical markets, such as financial services, health care, and retail as an important point of differentiation in the highly fragmented and competitive security systems integration market.
