Security Executive Council Offers "Ask the Experts" Online Feature
Oct 23, 2007 4:36 PM
The Security Executive Council (SEC) has announced the launch of a new online feature: Faculty Advisor (secleader.typepad.com). Through this interactive function, security professionals can call on the knowledge and experience of SEC faculty to answer pressing questions on all types of security-related topics, including security careers, business alignment, executive relationships, regulations, security's value, measures and metrics and SEC tools and products.
This new, free service will provide security practitioners impartial, expert advice on issues that directly impact their security programs. Any security practitioner may submit a question by e-mailing cso_ec@cxo.com or by clicking the "E-mail Me" link on the Faculty Advisor page. The question is then forwarded to the appropriate member of the SEC faculty, whose response is posted on the Faculty Advisor at secleader.typepad.com. Anyone may view the posted questions and responses, and visitors may subscribe to the feed to be notified when new items have been added. No company or personal identifying information is retained or posted. Not every question can be answered, but we will make every attempt to cover issues not already addressed in previous questions.
Security Executive Council faculty are innovators and industry influencers, many of whom have published books or reports on different aspects of security management. Emeritus faculty are retired chief security officers of forward-thinking, "converged" security programs, and content expert faculty are specialists within a particular discipline. Faculty members include George K. Campbell (formerly with Fidelity), Randy Uzzell (formerly with Burlington Industries), Jerry Brennan (SMR Group), John D. Thompson (Oberman, Thompson and Segal LLC) and many others. Their goal, and the goal of the council, is to share their knowledge for the improvement of the security profession.
