American Airlines, Continental Airlines and two airport security firms, Huntleigh USA Corp., and Argenbright Security Inc., are seeking dismissal of claims filed after the Sept. 11 attacks. The companies say they are not liable for damage or casualties in either New York or Washington, D.C.
The lawsuit, filed by relatives of victims of the attacks and companies that lost property, claims the four companies are responsible for the security breaches.
The airlines and security firms claim no legal responsibility for victims not aboard the hijacked planes.
