The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is demonstrating the capabilities of Explosives Detection Canine Teams across the country.

Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta has specifically cited the use of the canine teams to help airports meet the Dec. 31 deadline of screening all checked baggage for explosives.

The dogs go through intensive training to sniff for explosive orders. The TSA has demonstrated the canine teams in Chicago, Pittsburgh and Miami so far.
