CCTV Helps Catch Offenders in the Act

A registered sex offender was captured on surveillance tape as he assaulted a 12-year old girl in a department store.
The 40-year old man was arrested Thursday and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. The man, who is a Nicaraguan native, was being held by immigration authorities Saturday, Miami police spokesman Lt. Bill Schwartz said.
Security guards detained the man and called police after they observed him brushing up against the girl three times while her father stood nearby.
The man was arrested twice in 2000 for sexual offenses against children. He also has prior arrests for soliciting prostitution and drunken driving.
Earlier this week, a surveillance camera also caught a Kentucky man suspected of assaulting two children in discount stores there and in West Virginia.
