Verizon Business, has agreed to acquire Cybertrust, Herndon, Va., a privately-held provider of global information security services. This makes Verizon Business the leading provider of managed information security services to large-business and government customers worldwide.

Cisco Systems, San Jose, Calif., has announced an agreement to acquire BroadWare Technologies, Santa Clara, Calif., a privately-held provider of IP-based video surveillance software.

International Electronics Inc., Canton, Mass., has been acquired by Linear LLC, Carlsbad, Calif., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nortek Inc., Providence, R.I.

UTC Fire & Security, Hartford, Conn., announces acquisition of Marioff Corp., Finland, a provider of water mist fire suppression systems.

Agreements

ioimage, Denton, Texas, has announced a partnership with AASSET Security, a European manufacturer and distributor of CCTV products and solutions.

Viscount Systems Inc., Canada, has reached a brand labeling and distribution agreement with one of Asia's public conglomerates.

Scottrade Inc., is partnering with McAfee Inc., Santa Clara, Calif., to provide McAfee's all-in-one firewall, anti-virus, anti-phishing and anti-spyware software to its customers at no charge.

Universal Protection Service, Santa Ana, Calif., is expanding its security solutions to include the Denver-metro area. The new office is located in Aurora.
