The U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a set of instructions to help drinking water utilities submit security self-assessments.
The instructions were prompted by legislation requiring all community drinking water systems serving more than 3,300 people to submit vulnerability assessments and complete emergency response plans.
"This is a milestone in the effort to protect the nation's drinking water," EPA assistant administrator for water G. Tracy Mehan III said.
