Racing fans didn't seem to have a problem with security at Churchill Downs for Saturday's running of the Kentucky Derby.

The event, which drew nearly 102,000 people, saw no major security breaches. Extra officials, including National Guardsmen, checked bags and used magnetic wands to check people before entering.

Says Alex Waldrop, president of the track: "We've created a model for how things should be done at all major sporting events."

Louisville police reported a decrease in arrests this year, as compared to the Derby in 2001.
