Plastic card personalization system uses an RFID tag on each SmartLoad ink cartridge and a "smart chip" on the base of the SmartLoad card cartridge to communicate with the printer/encoder and user’s PC. Tags and chip track card printing, and send alert when card or ink supplies are low. The printer/encoder offers an optional magnetic-stripe (high-coercivity only) encoding unit. The top-loading cartridge delivers full-color cards in approximately 22 seconds. Features include 600 dpi for full-color images, text, and barcodes on abrasion-resistant non-glare cards.
